FOLKLORE RESTAURANT
FOLKLORE RESTAURANT is a sponsored project of the New York Foundation for the Arts. This film is supported by the Jerome Foundation in celebration of the Jerome Hill centennial and in recognition of the valuable cultural contributions of artists to society, and it is also made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a State agency.
FOLKLORE RESTAURANT is a short classic-animation film. Characters are created from the special Japanese paper (washi) and sometimes appear over a background of original photographs of the aurora borealis.
FOLKLORE RESTAURANT explores, in an aesthetically exceptional way, the strength of the fox tales originating from Native America, Finland, and Japan. It is both an educational and entertaining film.
